A shocking incident of sexual harassment has been reported from SSKM Hospital in Kolkata, where a 15-year-old girl was allegedly harassed by a man posing as a doctor.<\/p>\n
According to police sources, the minor had visited the hospital\u2019s outpatient department for treatment on Wednesday afternoon. The accused, pretending to be a doctor, lured the girl into the trauma care centre and allegedly took her inside a washroom where the incident occurred.<\/p>\n
After the girl raised an alarm, her family immediately informed the hospital authorities and lodged a complaint at Bhowanipore Police Station. Acting swiftly, Kolkata Police traced and arrested the accused from the Dhapa area later that night.<\/p>\n
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had earlier worked temporarily at Shambhunath Pandit Hospital and occasionally visited SSKM Hospital, taking advantage of his previous connection to gain entry.<\/p>\n
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and are investigating how the accused managed to access restricted areas inside the hospital.<\/p>\n
Hospital authorities have assured full cooperation with the investigation and stated that strict action will be taken against anyone found responsible for negligence in security.<\/p>\n
