Political tension escalated in West Bengal on Wednesday after the Trinamool Congress suspended Beldanga MLA Humayun Kabir for announcing the construction of a \u201cBabri Masjid replica\u201d in Murshidabad. The party accused him of violating organizational discipline & making statements that could incite communal tension.<\/p>\n

A few days ago, Kabir declared that on December 6th 2915 \u2014 The Anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition \u2014 he would lay the foundation stone for a replica of the historic structure in Beldanga. He claimed the project would serve as a \u201csymbol of communal harmony.\u201d<\/p>\n
