The Central Government has reduced the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder by \u20b9174. As a result, the new price of a commercial LPG cylinder in Kolkata is \u20b93,081.50, effective from Today, is; July 1.<\/p>\n<p>The price cut is expected to benefit hotels, restaurants, eateries &amp; catering businesses by reducing their operating costs. However, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders. The cost of a household cooking gas cylinder in Kolkata remains \u20b9968.<\/p>\n<p>The recent price surge was triggered by the conflict involving Iran, the United States &amp; Israel, which disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy route. The disruption affected international LPG supplies, increasing import costs for Indian oil marketing companies. As a result, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder, which had once been below \u20b92,000, climbed to \u20b93,255.50, putting additional financial pressure on the hospitality and catering sectors.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, increased domestic production and the normalization of LPG imports have restored supply levels.
