The grand inauguration of ABID Interiors 2026 at Milan Mela Prangan, Kolkata, where the Association of Building Interior Designers (ABID) marked 35 years of its rich legacy in the interior design industry. The exhibition, which opened to visitors on January 9, will continue till today, The January 12, 2026, drawing designers, architects, manufacturers and consumers from across the region.
Over the past three decades, ABID has played a decisive role in shaping Kolkata’s interior design ecosystem, emerging as a platform that encourages innovation, collaboration, and professional excellence. ABID Interiors has grown into one of Eastern India’s most influential design exhibitions, showcasing the convergence of creativity, business, and technology.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of several eminent personalities, including actress Priyanka Sarkar, entrepreneur and author Imran Zaki, Mr. Thierry Morel, Consul General of France in Kolkata, and Marc Boudin, Director of Alliance Française du Bengale. Senior ABID office bearers—Raja Sinha (President), Mukul Bothra (Vice President), Kamlesh Agarwal (IPP), Abhijit Saha (Secretary), Anjan Gupta (Joint Secretary), and Sanjeev Jalan (Treasurer) Samiran Banik (SrCordinator) —were also present along with members of the design fraternity.
A major attraction of this year’s edition is “ABID Tributes: Bengal Masters”, an artistic and architectural homage to legendary architect Dulal Mukherjee and renowned artist Narendra Chandra De Sarkar. The initiative celebrates Bengal’s creative legacy through a thoughtful dialogue between art and architecture.
Featuring over 60 exhibitors, ABID Interiors 2026 showcases premium interior products, materials, and contemporary design solutions from leading brands. The exhibition has received an overwhelming response, with an expected footfall of more than 70,000 visitors during the four-day event.
Speaking at the inauguration, Raja Sinha, President of ABID, said the exhibition represents more than a business platform. “It is a celebration of design, collaboration, and progress that continues to strengthen the interior design ecosystem of Eastern India,” he said.
Samiran Banik said this is one of The Legacies of our Interiors fraternity and ABID members wait for this which includes common people and from this trade too, to see what new and new design etc to keep themselves updated.
With its scale, vision, and legacy, ABID Interiors 2026 once again reinforces Kolkata’s position as a growing hub of design excellence.
